Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with the colour yellow and ‘I can’
Solar Plexus Chakra is the card drawn today from The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck by John Holland. It is the 3rd chakra card from the Psychic Tarot Deck. Element: ‘Fire’, Sound: ‘Ram’, Glands: ‘Pancreas’ and ‘Adrenals’.
In numerology, the number 3 resonates with: Optimism and joy, inspiration and creativity, speech and communication, good taste, imagination and intelligence, sociability and society, friendliness, kindness and compassion. Number 3 also relates to art, humour, energy, growth, expansion and the principles of increase, spontaneity, broad-minded thinking, synthesis, triad, heaven-human-earth, past-present-future.
According to Hindu tradition, Manipura is the name given to the Solar Plexus Chakra and it means lustrous gem. The 3rd chakra or the Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the belly button. This is the chakra of “fire within the body or the life force.”
It governs your self-esteem, your confidence in yourself, and your inner strength. Your ideas about how capable you are, and your ability to create abundance is derived from this chakra. When it is working properly, you are able to see golden opportunities in everything, regardless of what befalls you, you can find something good in whatever happens. You feel good about following your gut instincts, and you trust yourself. You have confidence in your abilities and your place in the world.
This Chakra regulates the function of the pancreas and digestive organs. Blockages in this centre can cause many health problems such as digestive disorders, circulatory disease, diabetes and fluctuations in blood pressure. However, a strong and active Solar Plexus Chakra greatly supports good health and assists you in overcoming many illnesses. When the energy of this Chakra flows freely, the effect is like that of a power station, constantly supplying vitality, bestowing balance and strength.
As you work with this chakra, cultivate a willingness to gain insight into your understanding of power, individuality, and identification. Are there areas of your life where you feel powerless? How does this manifest?
From a mental perspective, a misaligned Solar Plexus Chakra can make the art of skilful self-expression challenging. In some, it manifests as aggressive, overly rigid, or controlling behaviour, in others it breeds a victim mentality, neediness, and lack of direction to stand up and take positive action.
Either way, to harmonise this area, you need to practice self-appreciation, tolerance and love. When you feel out of balance, there are steps that you can take to help stabilise this area. You may want to try a martial arts class or yoga, and a breathing meditation can help you to drop into the solar plexus so that you may feel more connected to your body and emotions.
