Sacrifice is a card that is connected to surrendering to the unknown, for that is all there is
Sacrifice is the card drawn today from The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck by John Holland. It is the 12th card of the Major Arcana. This card is equivalent to Hanged Man, (Neptune, Water) in a traditional tarot spread.
In numerology, the number 12 becomes a 3 which represents: Optimism and joy, inspiration and creativity, speech and communication, good taste, imagination and intelligence, sociability and society, friendliness, kindness and compassion.
When you see Sacrifice, it means that you are feeling stuck in some area of your life. If life is not going the way you planned, no matter how much you do, then much is to be gained by letting go and looking at things from another perspective. Better still, try getting in touch with why you are feeling restricted because you could be restricting yourself for fear of the unknown.
It also represents the ability to see that every experience of suffering has something to teach you, and that, to a great extent, you are the cause of your own troubles in life. On the other hand, if you meet this time with resistance, you could create more roadblocks. Though you may feel at a standstill, be aware that there is still growth going on.
Some of you may be at a crossroads right now, unsure of the right path to take. Therefore, you may be much better off if you can delay any decision-making. Give yourself more time to reflect on the situation at hand and to consider the greater good.
Furthermore, if you can hold back and take time to reflect, surrender and let go, there will be more room to receive. More doors opening up for you. Time spent in reflection now will put you in a better place when life activates again. It will allow you to apply your new insight and knowledge gained to what is truly useful.
Holding onto old patterns, habits, or addictions can perpetuate an endless cycle of victimisation or you may be someone who has chosen the path of sacrifice to accomplish a higher goal, so it may be hard to see right now, but the harvest is coming. In addition, this is a time for growth which is more apparent on the inside than on the outside.
This card can also mean that you’re playing the martyr. You’re fed stories of martyrdom from a young age, starting with the story of Jesus. Apparently, there are some that believe that the stories were exaggerated to gain control of the masses by the church. However, this is a very controversial subject due to indoctrination.
In regards to relationship, Sacrifice might suggest that one of you may be withdrawing to reflect on where the relationship is going. You may wish to give great thought about making a further commitment. The other partner may not understand the deep, spiritual reasons behind this, and could feel impatient and frustrated. Maybe you feel that your relationship is going nowhere and that all progress has ceased. Are you seeing your partner in a new light?
“You must give everything to make your life as beautiful as the dreams that dance in your imagination.”
