Discontent and Boredom is a card that is connected to apathy and disillusionment
Discontent and Boredom is the card drawn today from The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck by John Holland. It is the 4th card of the suit emotion from the Minor Arcana. This card is equivalent to the 4 of cups, in a traditional tarot spread.
The number 4 resonates with the energy of; Structure, foundation, realisation, stable situations and planning. Number 4 also relates to high morals, traditional values, honesty and integrity, inner-wisdom, security, self-control, loyalty, conscientiousness, realistic values, stability and ability. It also relates to the attributes of progress, management, justice, seriousness, discipline.
The green border symbolises love, health, balance, compassion, nurturing nature and abundance. The colour green is associated with the Heart Chakra.
When you see Discontent and Boredom it signifies a time when you may be experiencing a feeling of stagnation. It could be that you’ve hung on to a situation long after its sell-by date or maybe the shine has gone off all those things that brought you happiness in the past and you just don’t feel the same way about them anymore.
While it can feel like stagnation, you need to understand that the choices and movements that are right for you to come from being in the moment. This place of heart-centred singularity is where your true self exists, and when you tune in to this space, you become aware of your true calling.
You may be feeling the pressure to make changes but do not know exactly what that change should be
In reality, fear of change is one of the most common reasons for resistance to change because it stops you taking any action at all but on the other hand, holding yourself in an unsatisfactory situation is what causes the feeling of stagnation. Fear (of change) operates under the radar convincing you that it’s there to protect you and keep you safe.
Don’t get down on yourself for feeling this way, it’s not a failing, it’s a warning sign that something’s out of kilter. This feeling is a call for action where planning and preparation for a whole new approach may be the answer. You’re longing for some change in your life and a step in the right direction will open doors that have new vistas. Changes could involve moving away from a certain lifestyle or circle of friends that are having a negative effect on you, a partner who does not bring out the best in you or a career that makes you feel Discontent and Boredom.
There is a good chance when discontent and Boredom arrives, that you feel really fed up and disillusioned with your life. You may feel that you have just cause for feeling so low. Something may not have worked out as you had planned, leaving you feeling dejected and bitter. You just don’t care anymore. What in particular has happened to make you feel this way?
On the other hand, you may want to be left alone in your state of moodiness or depression. Use this quiet time to turn your attention inward to find the truth for which you are searching. Pay particular attention to your daydreams and visions. The goal here is to tune in to what makes you come alive and have faith in divine timing. It’s a perfect time to reevaluate and search within your soul for fresh insights.
When you are at a place where you can be free of all the things you are overly attached to, you have gained a freedom which has given you exactly what you thought the other things would deliver but didn’t. ~ Sabine (artist)
