December 2019 Horoscope
Welcome to your December 2019 Horoscope. This month provides us with an opportunity to address questions of integration. We live within a highly polarised world. We see this inscribed everywhere within political movements. These polarities both perpetuate our own internal splits and are maintained by them. You cannot ‘heal the world’ by direct action to change it. The best that can be expected is that people all begin to give attention to their own contradictions and wounds, their inner schisms. If enough do the work there, we can hope for change at a larger scale.
There is an opportunity this month for people to get clear on what their fundamental attachment configurations are going to look like and function as. Do you love your cat or your dog? Great! Just ensure that such has not come at the expense of how you deal with your human attachment injuries – or else you are merely dodging on what you need to look at. We have plentiful ways of limping around broken.
This month, as we approach the festivities, spare a thought for your inner child – buried beneath layers of simulation, choking on loneliness perhaps while surrounded by a room of people, doing much the same as you. And if you are more whole on that score, look with love and compassion on those who are alienated from themselves and simply demonstrate the love that can help them loosen their often self-imposed cords.
Wherever you are at on your personal, emotional availability chart, remember that being open and warm is a choice. You can hide of course you can. But remember how cold it feels when you shut yourself away from the hearth, where the fire can nourish all. If you believe you are not worth it or do not measure up, it is time to release that and understand that you are loved simply for you, not because of how useful you are in somebody else’s scheme. I hope you discover that this December and move past any old complexes of self-sabotage.

It looks to me as if old configurations of belief from your childhood have been holding you back. Maybe you experienced people who were less than generous with their resources when it came to your developing sense of security? Perhaps you have been hampered by trust issues – which are really just beliefs that others will not be there for you and reciprocate and truly meet with you in an equal exchange? Such feelings, because mingled with security issues, can run very deep. We all seek a sense of security before we move forward. But for you, this month, it is important to move ahead in anticipation of good outcomes… even if old voices whisper insidiously that you will be neglected. Move in the direction that feels right, regardless of those ancient fears. It is the ONLY way you will heal them.
There is something of a monumental battle raging within you. But you may not be sensing storms, rather calm. You see, these battles are old and familiar. But that does not change their significance. You cannot escape them. It is just that you have grown into them. They are no longer mere conceptual struggles. Something deeper is afoot. It’s like stick or twist in pontoon. Taurus likes solid foundations. Taurus believes in such foundations. And yet life does not make such stability a recipe for security… or love. There are ideals latent to the highest expressions of love that give it a comforting quality that life rarely affords us. Vital now is a willingness to eschew feeling secure. Unerringly follow your excitement. That way in December old rigidities can finally break, allowing love to come pouring in.
This feels like a month in which you should undertake some deep research. This would be an inquiry around issues of vocation and what you do every day that makes up the bulk of ‘what you do’. While you have notable psychological acuity it is also the case that your creative juices seem to be percolating. If you were ever curious about your inner artist, now would be a good time to explore how the creative side of your life could be used in a way that could become economically viable. As Jupiter leaves your opposite sign, your emphasis can shift into exploring the possibilities of creative economic partnerships that will allow you to build a strong new foundation. I would suggest you spend some of this month imagining how timely your inventions might be or how inspiring your dreams might become.
In September of 2001, the world changed forever and a new cycle began for our globe. It seems as if something significant may have happened in your personal life too not long after that, which kicked in a whole new phase of existence for you as well. Why do I mention this now? Well, it appears as if whatever that change was, the cycle has come to an end. This feels like the archetypal chrysalis emergence moment for you. To me, it feels like power struggles in relationships and your sense of where the power lies in your life began a new phase back then. Perhaps you exited an oppressive situation. Whatever it was, it seems as if you spent the best part of twenty years untangling everything that this situation brought up for you. It took you such a long time to find your feet. The world is now your oyster.
Creativity isn’t simply an idea. It isn’t just something that we do to escape mundane prisons. It is not a badge that we wear to look cool, hip or trendy. In many ways, being creative is the reality of coming home to yourself. And with your ruler transiting your solar fifth house that is what is on your menu. I would recommend that you use your imagination to dream old dreams. These dreams may at one time have seemed like they existed outside of you, with you feeling like you desired to reach for them. I suspect that the mirage always vanished. The dream was actually you, but you saw it ‘out there’. All your dreams are within you, not outside. You are on the verge of coming home. You know what that means. Your astrologer doesn’t need to tell you. Be honest with yourself now. Dreams can come true.
Boundaries everywhere! Do you go into your hermit cave to avoid troublesome interactions? Or do you jump into the oceans and allow yourself to be taken wherever the current leads? When we maintain control over things and preserve the integrity of our own boundary we develop the strength and the necessary fortitude to function healthily in day to day experience. But too long in that space can cut us off from adventure, freedom and the beauty of communing with others in an attitude of trust. As a sensitive sign, it comes easier, self-preserving in hermit mode. But this month you have opportunity to find solid footing and strong foundations, through the act of surrender. You’ve done enough self-work to be clear that you understand your needs. You can sense that somebody important sees you. Trust this.
Of all the signs, none need to be told about win/win scenarios less than you. In fact, you wish that everybody else would just wake up to what has always been obvious to you. But this month, the question of why this story is relevant plays out. As your ruler Venus conjuncts the moon’s south node, the little matter of why and what led to these investments in you, comes to the fore. Sure, you have spent an age making your values intellectually coherent and defensible but what are your emotional investments? It looks like you face a big choice this month between objects, people or courses of action. Divergent paths stretch out ahead of you. How to choose? Clue: Not in line with the values that have seemingly defined you forever. Life suggests self-sacrifice to be unsustainable self-neglect. Choose YOU.
When we think of forceful or passive personalities we are actually just observing how power manifests within human psychology. That is based on action or inaction. Mars your ruler governs action and is in your sign. So there is no shortage of energy available to you this month. But it seems to me that the qualities of your opposite sign of Taurus and its ruler Venus are very much available to you as a resource this month also. What does it feel like to desist from the intensity and drive? When you clear the space of your busy personality what can be freed up instead? There is something about Venus at its best that is all about love. Real love is very powerful. It has the scope to untie the tightest knots and release the most captivated prisoners. This month take some time in the busyness to allow the reality of love.
The Sun is in your sign. You are facing in this season, a key choice between the past and the future. This decision you face is around material abundance. Being fruitful is often seen as evidence of cosmic blessing. This is available to you now. But sometimes we must take temporary hits in order to break into new territory. One thing is sure this month and that is about the matter of clinging on to the old material structures. New foundations appear to be in place. What you require is simply the courage to build on these foundations and to invest in a new situation, instead of still diverting energy into an old structure that is essentially defunct. As Venus conjuncts the south node early in the month in your second house, while Saturn and Pluto get ready for a shakedown there, resolve to evolve materially.
As if you didn’t have enough energies in your sign with Saturn, Pluto, Venus and the south node, you now experience Jupiter entering the fray for a twelve-month stay. It would be fair to say that the energies you have been dealing with involve clearing out of heavy residual karma. The past couple of years have seen a consolidation in your life. Your mettle has been thoroughly tested. When we are being knocked into shape and realigning there can be little room to be expansive. So much energy is taken up simply getting through the days and wrestling with presenting challenges. You are past the worst. Now Jupiter grants an opportunity to begin thinking about expansion. You cannot really entertain that when more pressing matters are afoot. This month begin imagining new possibilities.
When you have great depth or when things of great historical significance stir in your unconscious there often tends to be an energy of holding back. Now, while a degree of caution is laudable and wise, it has to be said that too much holding back can be a problem – particularly if it becomes a pattern which defines you. For one thing, how others respond to that signature will have a bearing on many of your life chances. Life chances? Yes! Lifeforce energy is meant to be expressed and too much holding back does not allow life to flourish. Just like in economics, holding money back means it cannot connect with the wider economy. You have to give out to get back. This month, the correlation between confidence level and your attachment successes becomes clearer. Asserting yourself is the key.
Timing is everything. Quite often we feel ready for developments, but life has other ideas. This does not mean that we will not acquire what we desire. But it does mean that often we have to be patient. It seems from where I am sitting that your plans feel as if they are on hold and that this is completely out of your control, with little prospect of movement any time soon. I would just let you know that it appears that some sort of significant other is currently getting their own ducks in a row, getting organised and sorting out quite a few long-overdue psychological tweaks and adjustments. Only once that process is completed will they be in a place to be able to be a part of things which you would like to see evolve. In December, please be aware that you need to be making your own foundations solid.
