Here is your Astroweekend 16th 17th 18th August 2019
Welcome to your Astroweekend bonanza of astrology, tarot, and runes. Rayna gives you an overview of the weekend’s planetary emphasis, while Karen’s major arcana card adds an archetypal energetic flavour and direction to the astrology. Finally, I weave this into the three runes I draw to connect the divinatory modes into the message focus and conclusion. We hope you enjoy our collaborative efforts! Which is the very basis of everything we wish to bring about through Healthy Tree Frog… Alex
When the Moon opposes Mars, as it does early Friday, we face the tension between acting out or feeling our way through issues. Mars is in Leo along with Mercury and Mercury makes some interesting aspects between Friday and Saturday to Chiron and Uranus respectively.
Mercury has more in common with Mars because of the Leo energy than it does with the moon’s Aquarian feel right now. This means that ‘acting out’ forms of expression might be much easier to indulge than simply feeling your way through the challenges of Saturday and Sunday.
Mercury is in trine to Chiron retrograde on Friday. Chiron in Aries is focused on the healing of the most basic layers of the self. Being retrograde, Chiron is asking you to use the information you have about how you need to heal the deepest levels of your being and this means feeling your way into the knowledge your body and your intuition want to show you. Your healing journey requires expression – but not expression that is about anger. It is more about feeling how you and those you are closest to are connected at the deepest level.
All the injuries based on how others may have judged you or criticised are ripe for release. Avoid arguments over Friday and Saturday. These could get out of hand because of what you may unearth – which is likely ancient stuff, unrelated to current setups.
On Saturday, once Mercury squares Uranus retrograde, it appears that the point of your feelings which are emerging and being expressed is not really about challenging any sort of outward status quo that you may have seen as the core problem you face. No, it is about your inner revolution. How are you changing? How do you express dissatisfaction with others? Do you really see and interpret others’ actions properly, or have these things been distorted? Saturday is a time to listen to others and to shed your usual fixed interpretations or trigger points when it comes to others communicating with you.
The weekend tarot card is The Hierophant corresponding to the Earth element, planet Venus, and the sign of Taurus.
Keywords – Good luck, karma, life cycles, destiny, a turning point.
The archetype of The Hierophant is spirituality, higher wisdom and this card often represents the holy man.
You encounter the Hierophant when you are struck with existential fear. You have decided what to do and how to proceed with your future, but in spite of the resolution, you are faced with fear and panic. You fear that the things you have done may not be enough and you may suffer in the future.
The Hierophant offers you 2 solutions. The first solution is to give up the thing that you have, that you’re afraid to lose, so the fear wouldn’t have control over your life anymore.
The second solution is to receive whatever comes your way with an open heart. Even if you’ve lost everything that you’ve built, the knowledge and experience you’ve gained are precious and these will not be lost.
On the other hand, you could be the one to give strength and support to those around you. You may be open to others’ beliefs and ideas but you don’t get bound by them. This means you are able to give fresh perspectives in any situation. Wise and considerate counsel is available.
The three runes for the weekend are Disruption, Harvest and Separation respectively.
Rune Art by Gabrielle Gern
It would appear that with the Hagalaz rune of disruption appearing on Friday, that part of your healing experience on this day will certainly involve a willingness to experience profound discomfort. Perhaps this means you will be pushed beyond one of your limits. It’s like the scene in The Shining when at the end the boiler goes into overdrive and the whole thing may explode, taking the building with it.
This may not manifest as anger though. It could be profound anxiety, or feeling completely unable to cope with presenting challenges. Meltdowns sound drastic, however, they are almost always temporary points of feeling. You wake up the next day and are still more or less okay. The key on Friday is not what is happening, rather not letting appearances overwhelm you. This is a tipping point and disruption is often a necessary part of healing.
Saturday’s rune Jera makes clear the disruptions are all part of a cycle that will lead to positive fruition. After negotiating your way through trials you reap the benefit at some future point. It is not as yet clear as to that point of timing so patience will be required and in line with the astrology, you must understand that responding differently, listening to the body and intuition and staying centred (rather than reacting) is crucial to your forward trajectory. Nourishment is on its way to you. You must simply persevere long enough for your process to outwork fully and in the right manner.
The Separation rune of Othila appears on Sunday. What is indicated at the end of your cycle of testing will involve a radical reconfiguration of your relationship to your core communities of significance. It may well be that old friends and bonds will shift and new ones replace some of the old ones. The skill you will require is one of integrating old and new bonds within your new set up. Of course, this will take time. But take notice of any invites coming your way today. They may likely come out of the blue and indicate clearly one of the new directions in which you are supposed to travel.
