Welcome to your April 2019 horoscope. This month has a feeling of Groundhog Day, for both individuals and within the key global political situations that we are facing. This is because early in the month, first of all, the nodes of the moon take a hit from Pluto and later in the month take a hit from Saturn (with the moon in the mix too). Saturn himself rules the south node’s current placement (Capricorn) and the moon rules the north node’s current placement (Cancer). Pluto conjunct the south node shows us that if we do not resolve the deficits of our past, they are likely to revisit us in tangible form. This is so that we can actually finish the repair work, metamorphose and enter a new stage of our earthly experience. When Saturn then makes the same pilgrimage, crippling restrictions, limitations and losses must be addressed as a karmic priority. Losses and deficits such as these tend to present as enduring wounds, which have failed to heal.
It is quite possible around the 25th of April, with the moon conjunct both the south node and Saturn that any trauma resolution you need to transact, will involve a more whole you revisiting an old situation, where personal wounds in your foundations, compromised your ability not to act out your core insecurities. Think carefully at that time about how other people have functioned like a magnet, which has magically brought all your deepest insecurities into the open. Don’t fret though. In the open is where they need to be! But of course, such exposure will require resilience. Work on your foundations in the first three and a half weeks of April. Give attention to the silencing of every ‘voice of rejection’ you ever received and which you have internalised. Remember, others were only ever the catalyst to YOUR pain. You may have projected that pain onto them subsequently as hatred. It’s time to notice that these people may have harmed you, but that your susceptibility to that was caused by a deeper injury that was always yours to heal.
In recent weeks you have likely released much grief about your losses. You may have reflected on the causes. Well now it is time to confront what it means to step through a portal into a different kind of future; not bound by the energies of the past (which always drew you back into familiar energy patterns). You are severing a cord. You must do so consciously. You must do so graciously. You must do so confidently. You must do so without fear and step forward onto a new path, with a different story as the eventual outcome, because you no longer obeyed the old dictates of a wounded self.
Have a month that reminds you only of life’s forward-looking possibilities.

ARIES: How many folks do you suppose that there are who make vocation the driver of everything in life? By the looks of the astrology, you may have been one of them. It’s time to reorient your life around a devotion to your home – whether that be your kin or your comfort with your interior decor. It’s quite possible that somebody significant in your past may have ‘banged on’ about this incessantly at one time. They may be about to cross your path again soon. Remember that revisiting is one of the key ways we gain contrast and perspective. Security is more about comfort than hard work.
TAURUS: The quest to understand is vital to living. And yet, it is quite possible that this can breed a pathological passivity, wherein there is no action toward productive outcomes. One can become risk-averse, or so focus on avoiding ‘inadequate understanding’ that one fails to notice the life not being lived. Wisdom is the application of understanding. Your wound seems to be summed up with ‘ever the thinker, reluctant pioneer’. This month, be aware that your mission is moving into optimising your operating environments. Why? Because you live in physical space, not inside your head!
GEMINI: Close human relating can get messy. Losing sight of the boundary between yourself and another human being is easy once lives become entwined on a daily basis – which is why so many of us resist that. For all that mess, part of our human blueprint longs for the support of close partnering at its best. Your mission now is to extricate yourself from the messy bits, which see us overly reliant on others for a sense of security. Perhaps past ruptures have caused you loss. Deep relating remains possible. But taking care of your own needs and wants is key. No more self-doubt. Trust!
CANCER: Relationships hold up a mirror to our inner workings. The relationships of our past sometimes come back to show us something. And some key figure may reappear to you this month (or, appear in a different light). The point of this is to help you understand how loss is often related to limitations. Often though, we have failed to see how we brought such restrictions to the party. When the party went sour, it was their unsuitability, not our demands, which was the key. Time to heal your relating foundations. This comes from self-awareness, not from seeing relationships as imprisoning…
LEO: What is your soul’s purpose? This much you already know… it is not ‘having a job’. And yet, is it not remarkable just how highly the rest of most of society prizes precisely that? Jobs are the soul-killers that tell everybody else that we are ‘somebody’. How bizarre! But true. It looks to me as if this has held you back. It’s time for you to explore the importance of social recognition, now. Your soul purpose involves transcending such crude measures of success. The point is no less than ‘a meeting with the gods’. To be clandestine is not to be free, it is nothing but dodging. Time for Leo 2.0…
VIRGO: I think it is fair to say that your industriousness has been to the fore and your creativity and pleasure have often been relegated as a result, within your experience. Even if you have retained pleasure as a value, it has likely felt more like the reward you will achieve at the end of a marathon, which never seems to end. You cannot really ‘earn’ pleasure as some kind of prize. You must factor it in as a value at the outset. Because you serve, you are apt to miss out in experiencing the joys of being ‘carried’. In April, remember to dream. More importantly, choose pleasurable bonds.
LIBRA: There is a nurture wound which appears to have a direct relationship to how traditionally ‘successful’ you have been in the world. Much as you may have attempted to redefine ‘success’ as a way of side-stepping the discomfort of having such a fact be ‘in your face’ 24/7, my feeling is that the problem goes deeper. There would appear to be a lack of self-assurance when it comes to going out into the vocational arena with the confidence of success. You veer toward caring careers because you’ve not fixed your nurture wound. Ask yourself “what would I truly want to do, if others looked after me?”
SCORPIO: Lofty or base? These tend to be two choices which reflect the two key aspects of human nature. We can be acquisitive and materialist, or loftier and focused upon self-improvement. While both are crucial elements of being human, the absence of the lofty leads to a very impoverished expression of living as a conscious entity. ‘Things’ and ‘routines’ can crowd out the goal of developing an actualised life. The goal for you now is to explore what forces when you were young, pushed you into the acquisitive side of life, to your loss. It could be time to travel. A higher purpose calls.
SAGITTARIUS: What do you most fear having taken from you? And by whom? What losses and fears have prevented you from taking risks in the past, or partnering with people who could truly enhance your experience? This month you are called upon to examine such material, in order to free you into a more expansive emotional space of relating. Every time a person criticises, a little piece of us can die, or at least go into hibernation. Trust is a risky business. You cannot get around that. You may have significant contact with such critics this month. But this will clarify your true needs.
CAPRICORN: To change or not to change would appear to be your key question now. You have been somebody. You’ve been invested in that way of being. You may have developed incredible value. And yet, this may have come at a huge cost. The ‘old’ you has been regulated by principle and karma, plus rock solid values. These are admirable. But people often trip and fall on the rocks and they do not get a soft landing! People like soft landings, for obvious reasons. In April, it will serve you well to look at the kind of qualities you would love to be on the receiving end of and to model these to others.
AQUARIUS: It is important for Aquarians to inspect the fruit of their lives carefully this month. Have you achieved anything like the things you wished to? Do you even have any kind of list of achievements to speak of? I’m feeling that issues of strict discipline in your childhood have had a strong bearing on your life trajectory; whether there was too much, or instead insufficient. The sensitive side of Aquarius is often not recognised due to a detachment others perceive in you, but in April try to connect with a time when nurture was plentiful. A simple, powerful memory will do. Make that central now.
PISCES: When you were very small, how were you treated in groups? The astrology indicates that you perhaps suffered a loss in such contexts. Of course, it is in groups where we are supposed to begin to thrive and learn the ropes of social and relational success. The Piscean impetus to transcend can be driven by a need to escape. This is unfortunate. The ways to correct this are to explore and unearth wounds of the past so that escape is no longer a driver, or to reach positively into our purpose, which for you, would appear to involve the experience of joy. You should combine both in April.
